Nobody knows how they begin, but who hasn’t heard a interesting Los Angeles urban legend.
Maybe it’s factual, maybe it’s clearly shown to be incorrect… maybe it’s such a terrifying urban legend that you’re just unsure what to make of it. We’ve heard them all – ghostly presences, burial grounds, bizarre occurrences from Los Angeles history coming back to spook everyone…
Have you heard a fantastic Los Angeles urban legend from a workmate – the kind of thing you’d read about on Snopes? Let us all know here, and, ah… continue the misinformation!

One of LA’s *hottest* hot spots from a ghost hunter’s perspective are located at Harry Houdini’s former residence (2400 Laurel Canyon Boulevard * LA, CA 90046). Houdini and a “Dr. Walker” still actively haunt
the site. When I went both were quite friendly, though the Doctor was a little disappointed that I wasn’t more frightened than I was. He popped into me to chat with the others in the group without asking (I’m a medium) which startled some of the others…but all in all we got some good recordings and readings for posterity.
If I ever win the lotto I would *love* to restore the old mansion – knowing that I’d be bunkies with the two strong willed aparitions!

I *heart* vampyres! I’d like to think that there’s a little goth in all of us after sunset. I love slipping into my burnout crushed red blood velvet jacket and donning my black-heeled boots and leggings when I go out to some of my favorite goth clubs. . .
One location can truly be called a “VAMPYRE LOUNGE” located in Beverly Hills within throwing distance of Trader Vic’s…I felt under dressed the first time I went! I made use of the opportunity to buy a plum empire-style tea length, vintage gown with matching satin pumps…the hunt for the handbag continues on…. :-) :-) :-)
This history is transcribed directly from their own website. . . .
“Our Story:
Rumor has it that the Vampire Vineyards are actually owned by a circle of vampires and our company’s founder, Michael Machat, an entertainment attorney from New York, is actually just a front. Whether he and his convertible were commandeered by a Vampire is still a subject for debate. The truth may never be known, but we do know however that Michael first began talking about branding wine with the vampire Mark back in 1985 after picking up a mysterious hitch-hiker on a late night drive through the pitch black Nevada desert.
Shortly thereafter our first modern day Vampire Wine product was introduced. ..”
